David Judovsky, 85, beloved husband, dad and grandpa of Warren, MN passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
David Joseph Judovsky was born on September 19th, 1936, on the family farm in Tabor Township, Polk County, MN. He attended country school as a boy before moving into Warren in 1949. After graduating early from Warren High School in 1953, Dave attended UND's Ag Program and was active in the ROTC. This led to his enlisting in the Army National Guard for 6 years; 6 months of which he was on active duty in Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
Dave lived to make people laugh and was never short of a witty comeback. He met the love of his life, Dolli, who was hoodwinked into thinking he was a charming individual with decorum but instead signed all of his love letters "Fred", or "John Wayne". Dolli would say they met at a cafe in Crookston, but Dave had spotted her long before then outside a movie theater in 1955. He heard through the grapevine that she would date him, and they struck up a love that lasted 62 years.
Upon his father's passing in 1957, Dave took on farming full time to support the life he hoped to have with his soon to be bride. And finally on November 28th, 1959 they wed. Dave and Dolli made their home in Warren, Minnesota and raised five children.
Dave was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Warren American Legion for over 50 years. He was a dedicated servant to his community who would also make time to volunteer when he could spare a minute away from his farm. He had a love for his farm that was exceeded only by his love for his faith and family. Many a summer vacation had been cut short to get back to the farm.
He was very proud when he received the Centennial Farm Award in 1981(The farm celebrated 140 years this year). In 1995, he was the proud recipient of the Master Farmer Award.
Dave is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Dolli; children, Lisa (Jim) Vansickle, Mark (Elis) Judovsky, Suzette (Brett) Frith, Carmen (Scott) Schluter, and Nikki (Travis) O’Connor; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two siblings, Lucy Bruce of Buena Park, CA, and Arnold (Gayle) Judovsky of Maple Grove, MN; sister-in-law, Anne Judovsky of Melrose, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank R. Judovsky, Mary (Lyle) Streich, Lillian (Raymond) Nowacki, Theodore Judovsky, and Eleanore (Marvin) Knutson; and brother-in-law, Darrell Bruce.
