David Lind, 63, of Alvarado, MN, died on Saturday, May 16, 2020, in his home surrounded by his family

David John was born on September 29, 1956, in Grand Forks, ND, to Ordean and Ann (Kozel) Lind. He was raised in Alvarado and started working on the family farm “as soon as his feet could reach the pedals,” He graduated from Alvarado High School in 1974 and went out to make his way in the world. He farmed for his entire life and eventually started Lind Heating and Air Conditioning in 1987. On September 15, 1990, Dave was united in Holy Matrimony to Joan Marie Keegan. The two would make their home in Alvarado in a big old farmhouse they moved to their farm. Dave farmed and worked his heating business from then on: even in his last weeks he was planning jobs to do.

Though his work was very important to him, Dave really liked to play. He owned a number of vehicles to cruise in, including his two favorite white and orange Camaros. Dave was also a member of Willie's Angels for 38 years. He was known to many as “Luigi” and was fine if you only knew him by his nickname. In addition to being involved with the Oslo Lions Club (as their gambling manager since 2013), Dave kept busy with the Oslo Rod & Gun activities and was a Township Supervisor . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling, and watching sprint car races. Dave frequented the Catholic Sacraments in both St. Joseph's, Oslo, MN, and St. Michael's, Grand Forks. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and was so happy to be able to spend his remaining days at home with his family.

Dave is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joan; son, Michael (Adela) Wisk; mother, Ann Lind; grandchildren, Mikey, Kaydence, Brennan, and Chestin; five siblings, Carleen (Richard) Slyt, Maurice (Jody) Lind, Scott (Theresa) Lind, and Cathy and Mary Lind; mother-in-law, Betty (Leonard) Kathman; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Keegan, Linda (Paul) Paschke; brother-in-law Kelly (Angela) Keegan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ordean; and brother-in-law, Richard Bruce.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 10:30 AM, in St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Social distancing of 6ft must also be maintained, as well as precautionary spacing within the church.

VISITATION: One hour prior to Mass.
INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
