Earl C. Litterer, 86, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Sunday morning, July 27, 2025 at North Star Manor in Warren, MN.
Earl Charles was born in Indiana on July 2, 1939, the son of Earl Charles Sr. and Gladys (Spencer) Litterer. He was raised in Indiana where he attended school and at the age of 17, he joined the US Air Force. Earl served for twenty years and was stationed in several places including Hawaii, California, Okinawa and Grand Forks. After his discharge, he moved his family to Indianapolis. In 1983, he moved to Grand Forks where he worked several jobs including working security at the American Crystal factory in East Grand Forks, MN and as an armored car driver for Rochester Security.
He was an artistic person who enjoyed drawing and writing poems. Many people would not believe that he was a talented artist due to his sometimes gruff exterior. Earl even had two of his poems published.
Left to mourn his passing are his daughter, Holly (Rick) Confer of Warren, MN; two grandchildren, Spencer Quinn Litterer and Jayden Litterer; stepchildren, Kenny Gamboe, Karen Gamboe and Robert “Kelly” Gamboe; brother, Robert “Bob” Litterer and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Jensen; son, Earl C. “Pete” Litterer; sister, Helen and brothers, Jim, Harry and Jerry.
MILITARY GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN. Military services provided by the Warren American Legion Post #27.
