Edmund Borowicz

Edmund Borowicz, 90, of Forest Lake, MN, passed away on Saturday morning, January 29, 2022, one day shy of his 91st birthday, at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake.

Edmund Conrad Borowicz was born on January 30, 1931 to Steve and Mary Ann (Chwialkowski) Borowicz on the farm his grandfather, Martin Borowicz, homesteaded in 1905. Edmund lived on this farm most of his life. He attended Country School at Florian MN. Edmund was baptized and confirmed in the Assumption Catholic Church of Florian where he was a lifetime member. He was also a member of the Polish National Alliance. He married Janice Mae Johnson at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN on October 18, 1955. He farmed and raised cattle and pigs. In 1966, he began working road construction for Roy Benson of Stephen, MN running heavy equipment. Edmund later was a mechanic for several different pipeline companies and traveled to many different states for 35 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 49B. Edmund enjoyed old time music and dancing. He loved deer hunting with family and driving around the country.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of 66 years; children, Randy (Nancy) Borowicz of Arizona, Janeen (Rob) Freeman of California, Tammy (Brian) Kasprowicz of Forest Lake, MN and Bruce Borowicz of Jordan, MN; grandchildren, Janessa Freeman, Bailey Kasprowicz and Luke and Savannah Borowicz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Adrian and his wife Theresa Borowicz; sister, Alvina and her husband Ludvig Stusynski; sister-in-law, MaryAnn and her husband Conrad Donarski; brothers in-law, Joseph Johnson, Willard and his wife, Linda Johnson and Theodore and his wife, Helen.S

SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Florian, MN with Rev. Luis Buitron officiating. Lunch will be served in the church basement following the service.
