Elaine Benson

The Lord called Elaine Marie Benson to her heavenly home on April 27, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born to George and Clara (Bjorsness) Jorgenson on April 20, 1930 in Warren, MN.

Elaine was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith and attended school in Alma Township. Following school, she lived at home and helped out on the her father's farm. On April 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Lynn Benson in Warren. They made their home in Stephen, MN.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Stephen, participating in Ladies Aid, Circle and quilting groups. She also worked with the Brownies and Cub Scouts in the community.

Elaine enjoyed baking, reading and family gatherings. She loved and prayed for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn who died on February 5, 2004; son, Rodger; daughter-in-law, Denise Benson; great-granddaughter, Heidon Barta; step-grandson, Cooper Satterlund; brothers, Lawrence Jorgenson, Earl Jorgenson and Clifford Jorgenson and sisters, Harriet Westlin and Elizabeth Hammerback.

Elaine is survived by her children, Doris (Doug) Haugen of Tumwater, WA, Dina (Chuck) Satterlund of Grafton, ND, Robert (Mavis) Benson of Stephen, MN and Alvern Benson of Grafton, ND; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Marlene) Jorgenson of Argyle, MN and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church of Stephen, MN.

PRAYER SERVICE: Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in First Lutheran Church of Stephen, MN.
INTERMENT: Stephen City Cemetery, Stephen, MN.
COFFEE & BARS: in the church, following the Graveside Service.
