Elijah Davis Obituary

Eli Davis, a child of God, was returned to the One who made and loved him, on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after two beautiful years on this earth.

Elijah Joseph was born on January 2, 2020, in Grand Forks, ND, the third child of Jacob and Lauren (Johns0n) Davis. Raised on a farm near Warren, his loving household included his Mom and Dad, two big sisters, and all sorts of other animals for him to play with outside. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when enjoying God's creation. From mower-rides with Dad to cooking with Mom in the kitchen, Eli's world was one of exploration and wonder. If he wasn't being carried around and tended-to by his sisters, you might find him flat on the floor closely inspecting a bug, watching the cats eat, or at the window observing his Dad at work (and talking to himself all the while).

He had a special appreciation for tractors and vehicles (“tractor” being his first word as an early talker). Their tires especially interested him; the more closely he could inspect them the better! In his two brief years, Eli touched the hearts of many. He was polite, inquisitive, and had a beautiful head of curly hair and bright piercing blue eyes. Eli was baptized and dedicated to God on June 27, 2021.

Despite having fought illness from the beginning of his life, Eli was a fighter and did not complain about discomfort: he had too much to explore and too much give to the world to waste time on that! His final days were spent with his family by his side in Mayo Clinic- St. Mary's, Rochester, MN.

He is survived by his parents, Jacob and Lauren; big sisters, Audra Marie and Adalynn Joy; his grandparents, Nathan and Lisa Johnson of Kennedy, MN, and William “Bill” and Nancy Davis of Bismarck, ND; great-grandparents, Lamar and Audrey Johnson, Gwendolyn Hjelle, Orrin “Bud” Davis, and Robert “Bob” and Loretta Faulkner; aunts and uncles, Kelsey ( Kole) Kristiansen, Kiersti Johnson, Joshua (Lyndsey) Davis, and Jordan (Liz) Davis; and cousins, Orrin, Isla, Annalise, Hudson, and Isabelle.

Eli was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Kenneth Hjelle, and Catherine “Kit” Davis.

Eli's family would like to thank everyone who prayed for his recovery.
God's will has been done and He has made Eli's path straight.
Let us trust in the Lord with all our hearts- Proverbs 3:5-6
