Eugene "Bud" Paulson

Eugene “Bud” Paulson, 87, of Warren, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, March 29, 2021 at North Valley Health Center in Warren.

Eugene Frank Paulson was born on September 13, 1933 in Grafton, ND, the son of Paul and Hildur (Stark) Paulson. He was raised in Cavalier, ND where he graduated from Cavalier High School in 1951. Eugene served in the US Army from April 19, 1955 until March 29, 1957. After his discharge, he was united in marriage to Beatrice “Bea” Hallin on December 17, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega. They made their home in Warren where Eugene worked at the Marshall County Highway Department for forty years. Bea died on September 23, 1995. He married Leona “Lee” Nord on May 19, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega. They made their home in Warren.

Bud was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega and a former Mason and Lions member.

He enjoyed woodworking, camping, snowmobiling and dancing. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and “grand dogs”. Bud and Lee's house was where the neighbor dogs and children would stop in for a visit and a treat. In his later years, he enjoyed mowing and blowing snow with his lawn tractor. He volunteered many hours at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega mowing the church and cemetery grounds.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Leona; children, David (Rhonda) Paulson of Warroad, MN, Donald Paulson of Redlands, CA, Douglas (Lesley) Paulson of Duluth, MN, Debra Paulson of Avon, MN and Deb (Loren) Zutz of Warren, MN; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hildur; wife, Beatrice; stepson, Richard Bergeron; three grandchildren, Javan Paulson, Noah Weiss and Jeffrey Zutz; great-grandson, Hosea Wilhelm; sisters, Ann McLachlan Bette Boman and Helen Ranstrom and brother, Robert Paulson.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Private family services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega in rural Warren, MN.

VISITATION: A walk through visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN. Masks are required.

INTERMENT: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery of Vega, Vega Township, Marshall County, MN
