Gail Knutson, 67, of Warren, MN, died of Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Sanford Palliative Care of Fargo, ND.
Gail Mary Ebertowski was born on May 10, 1958, in Grafton, ND, to Frank F. and Irene Ebertowski. Raised on a farm along the Red River, she graduated from Grafton High School in 1976 and attended Aaker's Business College. Gail found employment in a few different businesses in Warren and was set up on a date with a local businessman, Paul Knutson. The two were married in Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Warren on August 10, 1985. They made their home together in Warren and Gail worked for Warren Public School. In later years, Gail worked in sales for Digikey, but was always busy with other volunteer opportunities around town. She had a servant's heart, and enjoyed her work with the Warren Volunteer Firefighter's Auxiliary, the Marshall Co. Historical Society, the Marshall Co. Mounted Posse, Our Savior's church, organizing high school reunions for her own class and Paul's, and many other endeavors.
She was an easy person to visit with, and though she and Paul never had children, she cared for many at the school. Always believing the best in everyone, Gail had an ability to uplift students that will echo on in the memories of all who benefited from her compassion. The greatest recipient of her love was Paul, whose Parkinson's care was Gail's primary concern these last years: a care which will be deeply missed and never quite replaced.
Gone before we were ready, Gail is survived by her husband, Paul; sisters, Carol (Calvin) Turner and Faye (Jeff) Offutt; sister-in-law, Lana Ebertowski; nieces and nephews and their families, Chris (Robin), Ryan (Amy), Scott, and Erin Turner, and Jeffrey (Laura) & Michael (Abby) Ebertowski, Lynette (Mike) Renfroe; and several Knutson relatives.
In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Ebertowski.
Per her wishes, a funeral will be held in the Church of her childhood, to which she recently returned.
