H. Jane Osowski Obituary

H. Jane Osowski, 95, of Oslo, MN, died on Saturday morning, February 21, 2026, in Woodside Village of Grand Forks, ND, with her family beside her.

Helen Jane Campbell was born on June 13, 1930, in rural Grafton, ND, to William and Amanda (LaBerge) Campbell. She grew up on a potato farm and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood in 1948. That same year she was married to Francis “Frank” Osowski on October 12, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood. They made their home in Bigwoods Township, rural Oslo, MN. In 1951, Frank's brother Tony (Leo) was widowed and Jane, feeling God's calling, invited him and his four small children into their home. She was told early on she would not likely have children of her own. When she did (surprise!) they weren't as well-behaved as the others, and what's more, continued to arrive until she was 43, the last of whom was born a few days before her 25th wedding anniversary. She attended Aaker's Business college for accounting, graduating in 1981, after which she worked for Bremer Bank in Grafton, grateful for the change of pace.

Jane's household was wild and chaotic, but she was able to take a joke and was a good sport- especially when Frank would invite seemingly the whole township over for a meal. She had a huge garden and loved working with her hands- whether it was growing flowers, crocheting afghans, or volunteering in just about every capacity at her church, St. Joseph's of Oslo. People gravitated towards Jane as she had a peaceful, welcoming presence and lovable personality. She spent many hours of her life “solving the world's problems” while out on walks with her friends, Helen Grenlin and Phyllis Farder; and was a regular on the Catholic fall supper circuit, hitting all the best ones with Phyllis Kosmatka.

Jane will be remembered for the unconditional love she showed everyone she met, her faithfulness to her Lord, an appreciation for Dairy Queen and Starbucks treats, and her small dictionary of made-up swear words.
May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her.

She is survived by five children, Julie Bach of Oslo, Cary (Rachel) Osowski of Manvel, ND, Therese Brandon and Kim Osowski, both of Bismarck, ND, and Joel (Paula) Osowski; three of Tony's four “bonus children,” Mary Kowalski, Darlene Demars, and Tommy Osowski; twelve grandchildren, Travis (Megan) Bach, Derek (Crystal) Osowski, Blake Brandon (Laiken Price), Bryce (Shanel) Brandon, Alyson Brandon, Brock Brandon, Grant Bushaw, Braydon Bushaw, Haylee Bushaw, Casey Osowski, Nora Osowski, and Owen Osowski; four great-grandchildren, Rayna, Emma, Leah, and Barrett; and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Porter Moen; and is the last of her generation, being preceded in death by all of her siblings, Paul (Marietta), Edmond (Agnes), Annette, Blanche (John) Osowski, Alice (Stanley) Danielski, and Rev. Joe Campbell; as well as her husband, Frank, and all of his siblings and their spouses. She was also preceded in death by “bonus son,” Ronny Osowski.

Her family would like to thank Valley Senior Living on 42nd – Woodside Village for the wonderful care Jane received there for over a decade: your kindness will never be forgotten.
