Helen Aas, 96, formerly of Oslo, MN, died on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Orlando (Florida) Regional Medical Center.
Helen Alice was born on April 15, 1925, in Foldahl Township, near Argyle, MN, one of eight children born to Joseph and Hilda (Aasand) Monson. She grew up on the family farm and worked as a waitress as a young woman. Helen was married to Newell Aas on June 16, 1946, in Warren, MN. The couple made their home in rural Oslo where Newell farmed and Helen was a homemaker and mother to their only daughter, Delrene. Helen was active in her church, Bigwoods Lutheran Church. In 2019, Helen moved from Oslo to Orlando, where she could be closer to her family and enjoy the warmer weather.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Delrene and son-in-law, Rich Newman; granddaughter, Kristin Jeffcoat; great-grandchildren, Alex, Zachary, and Elin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Newell, who passed away on Christmas day, 2006; Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Lyman, Norton, Maxwell and James; and three sisters, Mildred Nordblom, Jean Lindblad, and Joyce Haugen.
VISITATION: Monday, June 28, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, in the DuBore Funeral Home Chapel, Warren, MN.
