Helen Plencner, 89, of Fargo, formerly of Warren, MN, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Helen Marie Johnston was born March 17, 1930 in Walhalla, ND to Margaret (Demars) and Melville Johnston. The family moved to Warren Minnesota in 1941. Helen completed her education there and was married November 22, 1949 to Ralph H. Plencner. During her lifetime she worked as a telephone operator, waitress and at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She considered her greatest accomplishment in life was the raising of six wonderful children. Helen was an avid reader and traveled the world through her readings. She cherished her time visiting with family and friends. Helen and Ralph spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed numerous trips to Hawaii. Helen was active in Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Warren Hospital Auxiliary, Warren Fireman’s Auxiliary, and the TOPS Club. Later in life Helen and Ralph moved to Fargo North Dakota to be closer to their two daughters. We will remember her smile, laugh and sense of humor. A life well lived, a wife, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. Mom, we will love you forever times infinity!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melville and Margaret Johnston, sister Leona Hollinger, husband Ralph and granddaughter Jenny Marie Neumann. Helen is survived by her brother Robert Johnston – San Jose, CA, daughters, Carolyn (Glenn) Palluck – Horace, ND, Sharon Brown – Fargo, ND, Mary Plencner – San Diego, CA, Diane Plencner – San Diego, CA, CA, Trisha (Todd) Riopelle –Fountain Hills, AZ and son Robert Plencner – Modesto, CA. Also two grandchildren: Kristen (Richardo) Balatocan – Saragota Springs – UT, and Anthony Palluck – Davenport, ND. Great grandchildren Malina and Layla – Saratoga Springs - UT.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour before Mass at the church.
INTERMENT: Helen will be laid to rest with her husband in Calvary Cemetery, Warren, MN.
