Ina Loeslie Obituary

Ina Loeslie, 79, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 22, 2020 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND due to the Covid-19 virus.

Ina Marie Ranstrom was born on September 3, 1941 in Oslo, MN, the daughter of Garfield and Carol Marie (Edman) Ranstrom. She was raised in Vega Township and she graduated from Warren High School in 1959. After high school, she attended Aaker's Business College. On June 22, 1963, Ina was united in marriage to Harvey Loeslie. They made their home on their cherished farmstead by Radium, MN where they raised their family. Ina worked for the President of UND and at the Warren High School for several years before staying home to raise her family and to help Harvey on the farm. She was a dedicated farm wife, always busy running errands and managing the farm yard and family. Later in life, Ina cleaned close family and friend's homes perfectly, “just for fun”. Ina and Harvey moved to East Grand Forks in 2004. Harvey died on March 6, 2014. Ina's most favorite and most important job was being a blessing to her children and grandchildren.

Ina had a great faith and was always actively involved in church wherever she lived. Immauel Lutheran Church of Vega was her childhood church where she was baptized, confirmed and married, Zion Lutheran Church in Warren was where her family attended when they lived by Radium and in recent years, she attended HOPE Church in Grand Forks, ND. She made many wonderful friends at HOPE and cherished her faith home.

Caring for her family and grandchildren was her #1 hobby. She actively kept tabs on all her grandchildren and knew exactly what they were up to and followed them. She looked forward to any games and activities they were involved in. She was her grandchildren's #1 fan. LeAnne and Mark were blessed to live close by and she never declined helping out with the grandchildren when life was busy. Ina loved to mow her lawn and took great pride in the farm yard and her yard in town. She also enjoyed her Homemaker's Club and all of her special friends.

Ina never missed an appointment and was ALWAYS early. She was selfless, even in her last days. Ina never missed a birthday and her signature gift was giving special silver or gold coins to the family. It was a blessing that all grew to love and expect from her generous spirit. She loved watching the weather and would keep tabs on all three locations her children lived. Forever giving them a heads up on bad weather, to make sure everyone was safe.

Left to mourn her passing are three children: daughter and son-in-law, Laren and Dean Lorenzen of Sioux Falls, SD and grandchildren, Logan and LaRae, son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Vicki Loeslie of Rochester, MN and grandchildren, Nathan (Lola), Austin and Peyton and great-grandchild Rylan and daughter and son-in-law, LeAnne and Mark Poolman of East Grand Forks, MN and grandchildren, Tucker (fiancee, Jess), Colton and Mason; siblings, Bruce (Bev) Ranstrom of Naples, FL and Karen (Randy) Kuzel of Lakeville, MN and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Carol Ranstrom; stepmother, Nettie Ranstrom; husband, Harvey and siblings, Lois Larson and Charles Ranstrom.

Special note from the family:

Mom was taken from her worldly family suddenly from the Covid-19 virus. She, and we as a family, would not want to put anyone at risk. We are respectfully asking for a small service at the cemetery. As a close family member or friend, if you feel you would like to attend, please consider safety precautions. We ask that you refrain from hugging or handshaking.
