James "JR" Reuille, 62, of Stephen, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026.
James Patrick Reuille was born on April 3, 1963, in Superior, Wisconsin, to John and June (Paulson) Reuille. He was raised on the family property five miles outside of Superior, where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work and the outdoors. By watching his father build and repair nearly everything around them, Jim learned to work skillfully with his hands, a talent he carried with him throughout his life. His youth was filled with hunting, fishing, and time spent outdoors, activities he continued to enjoy for decades.
After graduating from high school, Jim moved to Northwood, North Dakota, where he established a new exciting career, tackling a new skill he had never imagined would take him on the opportunity to work for a beautiful farm family (the Sherva Brothers). It lead him to build new fond friendships and where he met Laurie Myron. The two were united in marriage on December 1, 1984, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. They later made their home in Donaldson, Minnesota, where Jim began working for Minn-Dak Growers as a mill operator, following his father's trade as his father (John) was a state grain inspector. In 1997, he joined D & D Commodities in Stephen. In 2002, Jim, Laurie, and their family moved to Stephen, where he continued his career. He dedicated nearly 25 years to D & D Commodities before retiring.
Those who knew JR often said he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He enjoyed boating, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. A gifted handyman, JR could build or fix almost anything. He also enjoyed gardening – but only tomatoes. JR tended to them with pride and care, though he admittedly watered the marigolds a bit more begrudgingly.
Jim is survived by his ex-wife and forever friend, Laurie Reuille; his three sons, Cody Reuille, Shane Reuille, and Dylan Reuille; his father, John Reuille; his brother, Dennis (Janet) Reuille; his sister, Karen Hapy; his niece, Arielle Hapy; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a lifetime friendship that shared employment at Minn-Dak and D&D and outdoor activities of the same passions and interests, Mike Romans, who forever encouraged JR (Jim).
He was preceded in death by his mother, June.
Memorial Service will be held in the near future at DuBore Funeral Home. Date and time to be announced when finalized.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Superior, Wisconsin
on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 12:00 - 3:00 PM, in the Superior Town Hall.
