Karen M. Osowski

Karen Marie Osowski, 67, of Oslo, MN, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021.

Karen was born on April 27, 1953, in Grafton, ND; the daughter of John and Marie Blanche (Campbell) Osowski. She graduated from Oslo High School in Oslo, the class of 1971.

Karen worked in a variety of retail stores in Grand Forks and was manager of Pred’s Coats store before the store closed after the 1997 flood. She retired from Catherine’s in 2014 and moved back to her hometown of Oslo.

Karen was a special sister and provided extra tender loving care for her brothers Jack and Earl. She was a doting aunt and adored her nieces. When her nieces were younger, she would have them over for sleepovers at her house. She loved young children and enjoyed entertaining them whenever she had the opportunity. Karen enjoyed baking cookies for others. Her cookies were always the hit of the party.

Karen is survived by her sister, Marlene (Pat) Flynn of Eagan, MN; brothers, Dale (Cheri) Osowski of Oslo, MN, Jack Osowski of Warren, MN and Earl Osowski of East Grand Forks, MN; five nieces, Sara (Paul) Jirovec of Burnsville, MN, Tami Osowski of Manvel, ND, Holly (Brian) Gowan of Manvel, ND, Rebecca (Patrick) Rooney of Carmel, IN, and Ashley (Troy) Solem of Ardoch, ND; nephew Bryan Flynn, of Brooklyn Center, MN; eleven grand nieces and nephews, Caden, Callie and Chloe Gowan, Vivian, James, Becket, Damien and Julia Rooney, Kaizley, Moxin and Ryzer Solem.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Blanche; niece, Maria Flynn and nephew-in-law, Joshua Gowan.

She will be missed by many.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oslo, MN. Face masks will be required and social-distancing enforced.

VISITATION: One hour before services.

INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
