Kristie Anderson

Kristie Anderson, 54, of Viking, MN, passed away on Thursday morning, January 7, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Kristie Kae Bjornrud was born on June 1, 1966 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Wayne and Carol (Schweitzer) Bjornrud. She was raised in Thief River Falls where she attended and graduated from Lincoln High School and Northland Community College. On June 11, 1988, Kristie married the love of her life, Scott Anderson, in Thief River Falls. They made their home just north of Viking. Kristie worked at Hugo's Family Marketplace in Thief River Falls for over 30 years. She loved working at Hugo's and was currently the pricing coordinator. Scott died on September 16, 2011. Kristie and Arianna continued to live on the farmstead after Scott died.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Viking.

Kristie was known for her witty and funny sense of humor and always had a quick comeback. She enjoyed her friendship with the “Sedona Girls”. Every Monday afternoon, Kristie had coffee at her parent's house that they ended up calling Kristie Coffee. She called the lake cabin on Maple Lake her “Happy Place” and many happy memories were made there with family and friends. Kristie was an excellent cross stitcher and she enjoyed drinking all kinds of coffee and collecting coffee cups. She had a great love of penguins and had many penguin collectibles. Kristie and her sister Sheila would take an annual one week sister trip and the highlight for Kristie was when they traveled to Australia to watch the march of the penguins.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Arianna Anderson and her fiancee, Tyler Vanderlinden of Viking, MN; parents, Wayne and Carol Bjornrud of Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Sheila Bjornrud (Craig Mischel) of Thief River Falls, MN; brother-in-law, Michael Anderson of Viking, MN; sisters-in-law, Dawn Knoll of Warren, MN and Gloria (Mark) Osowski of Bemidji, MN; nieces and nephews, Kayla, Jacey, Austin (Miranda), Aaron (Kelli), Amerae (Jacob), Kaylea, Jessica (Jeff), Jake (Katie) and Jordan (Jesse) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Audrey Anderson and brother-in-law, Kevin Anderson.

PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL: Will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN.

WALK THROUGH VISITATION: 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN. Masks and social distancing will be required.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: About 11:45 AM on Wednesday at Viking Cemetery in rural Viking, MN. This service is open to the public. Please follow CDC guidelines.
