Larry Wittman

Larry Wittman, 66, of Badger, MN, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 19, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Larry Burton Wittman was born on September 8, 1957 in Warren, MN, the son of Laurel and Beverly (Ekwall) Wittman.  He was raised in Warren where he graduated from Warren High School.  While in high school, Larry enjoyed being on the wrestling team where he held the record for the fastest pin for 27 years.  He served for a short time in the US Army before being bit by a scorpion and he was medically discharged.  After his discharge, he graduated Thief River Falls AVTI.  Larry married Norma Tauer on July 20, 1985.  They made their home in Warren where he farmed for several years before moving to Badger, MN in 1994.  He worked for Marvin Widows and Doors in Warroad, MN until he retired.  

He enjoyed taking care of land (farming, mowing lawns) and hanging out with his dog, Riley.  Larry loved visiting with family, friends and his neighbors in Badger.

Left to mourn his passing are his son, Lawrence (Jenniffer) Wittman of Glyndon, MN; daughter, Shana Wittman of Roseau, MN two grandchildren, Eliana and Ezra Wittman; siblings, Laurel Jr. (Sonja) Wittman of Camano Island, WA, Sharon (Tim) Haberman of Sioux Falls, SD, Sheryl Northup of Thief River Falls, MN, Jon (Inna) Wittman of Goleta, CA, Carol Kilen of Warren, MN and Pamela (Jason) McDonald of Allen, TX; aunts, uncle and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurel and Beverly and brother-in-law, Greg Kilen.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour before services.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN

Military Service by Warren American Legion Post 27 and Honor Guard.
