Loretta Borowicz, 97, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.
Loretta Gratzek was born on September 11, 1922 in Warren, MN, the daughter of John and Stella (Przybylski) Gratzek. She was raised in Wright Township, Marshall County, MN where she attended country school. On October 15, 1946, Loretta married Ray Borowicz. They made their home in Wanger Township, Marshall County, MN where they farmed. Ray died on April 9, 1988. Loretta continued to live on the farm until moving to Tamarac Senior Living in Stephen several years ago. She moved to Valley Senior Living in the fall of 2019.
She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Assumption Ladies.
Loretta enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and bingo, doing puzzles, embroidering dishtowels, dancing and traveling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing are six children, Donalda (Arnie) Kuznia of Stephen, MN, Kenneth (Arnette) Borowicz of Stephen, MN, Kathy (Tom) Pate of Chisago City, MN, Renee (Kevin) Fee of Grand Forks, ND, Randy (Mary) Borowicz of Jamestown, ND and Jeff (Shelly) Borowicz of Fargo, ND; nineteen grandchildren, Michelle, Karla, Jayson, Nathan, Amber, Brandie, Season, Garrett, Kimberly, Cali, Bryan, Ashleigh, Katie, Rebecca, Travis, Troy, David, Dani and Mack; thirty great-grandchildren; brother, John Gratzek of Burnsville, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Gratzek; husband, Ray; son, Allan; grandson, Keith Votel; sister, Isabelle Nowacki and brothers, Lambert Gratzek and Rudolph “Rudy” Gratzek.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:15 PM Rosary and 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church.
INTERMENT: Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Florian, MN
