Lorrayne Yutrzenka, 89, formerly of Argyle, MN, passed away at her home in Valley Senior Living on 42nd, Grand Forks, ND, on Thursday, February 27, 2020, with her family at her side.
Lorrayne Lucille was born on January 7, 1931, during her family's brief stay in Chicago, IL, to John and Lucy (Price) Wilebski. She came home to Marshall County, MN, and lived between Stephen and Strandquist, attending school in the latter. On October 15, 1951, Lorrayne was united in marriage to Edmund J. Yutrzenka in Assumption Catholic Church, Florian, MN. The young couple made their home in Moorhead, MN, Grand Forks, and Warren, MN, before finally settling in Argyle in 1963. She stayed home for a few years with the children before working as a cook for Argyle Public School (from 1969 to 1998).
She was active in her church, St. Rose of Lima, and was a longtime member of their Catholic Daughters group. Lorrayne enjoyed reading, maintaining a garden, and was an avid walker. In 2018 Lorrayne moved into what was then known as Woodside Village in Grand Forks.
Lorrayne is survived by her children Patricia (Scott) Hasbrouck of Thompson, ND, Renee (Marc) Olson of Grand Forks, Denise (Norman) Hassell of Swanzey, NH, Ron (Jodie) Yutrzenka of Kirkland, WA, Mary Jo (Richard) Whelan of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Janel (James) Dahl of Kennedy, MN; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and siblings, Irene Sjoblom of Karlstad, MN, and Harold Wilebski of St. Paul, MN.
In addition to her husband, Edmund, who died on September 25, 1999; Lorrayne was preceded in death by her grandson, Brent Olson.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, March 2, 2020, at 10:30 AM, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior to Mass.
INTERMENT: Spring of 2020 in St. Rose Cemetery, Argyle.
