Marjorie Kasprowicz Obituary

Marjorie Kasprowicz, 82, of Argyle, MN, passed away early Sunday morning, May 19, 2024 at North Star Manor with her children by her side.

Marjorie Joan Durand was born on August 9, 1941 in Grafton, ND, to Albert and Arbella (Samson) Durand. When Marjorie was three, the family moved to a farm in Argyle. She treasured the memories of visiting the Sisters of St. Joseph in the big convent across the road and she attended eight years of school at St. Rose of Lima School. She graduated from Argyle Public School in 1959.

She loved telling the story of seeing this good-looking guy at a New Years Eve dance in Florian. At the stroke of midnight, she went up and kissed Alex “Bob” Kasprowicz a Happy New Year... and the rest is history. Bob proposed under the Argyle Water Tower and the two were married on January 9, 1960. Marjorie held offices in the Women's Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed going on the TEC retreat weekends. Number 25 was her first and she made several after. On March 7, 1984, Bob started his sobriety journey and Marjorie said she got back the man she fell in love with- and fell in love with him all over again. They were best friends and proved it to each other every way they could. Bob died in their home on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

One of the jobs Marjorie enjoyed best was as a cook at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren. She always told herself she had the best job she could ask for and loved spending time with the residents. She later cooked at the Tamarac in Stephen and fell in love with many others. Her final days were spent on hospice with Marjorie predicting the day of her death- on a Sunday, just like her husband.

She wants her friends and family to know that she loved Jesus, Mother Mary, and the Rosary, praying for their help and that of St. Jude for each and every one of them.

May God Bless the memory of Marjorie Kasprowicz and please remember her in your prayers.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Bobby Kasprowicz of Huntington Beach, CA, Todd (Holly) Kasprowicz of Glendale, AZ, Troy (Patty) Kasprowicz of Halma, MN; daughter, Heidi (Paul) Carlson of Argyle; son-in-law, John Keller of Fosston, MN; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bob (Wendy) Durand.

In addition to her husband, Marjorie has two children awaiting her coming into eternal life, Candy Keller (Nov. 30, 2018) and Chris Kasprowicz (Mar. 25, 2020). Se was also preceded in death by her siblings, Fern Bergeron, William Durand, Simone Gornowicz, Lucille Rapacz, Ronald, Daniel, and Eugene Durand.
