Marlene Joyce Anderson

Marlene Anderson, 92, of Fargo, ND, passed away at Beyond Hospice Pillars on February 27, in Oakdale, MN.

Marlene was born April 19, 1930 in Grand Forks, ND to John and Libby Zipoy (Dostal). She grew up in Tabor, MN and attended school in East Grand Forks, MN. She married Hubert Anderson on March 20, 1948 in Angus, MN. They farmed and raised their four daughters in Angus. Marlene graduated from Crookston School of Practical Nursing in 1970. She worked at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN and United Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

They moved to East Grand Forks in 1977 where they enjoyed golfing, traveling, dancing, and winters in Mesa, AZ. They were members of Mendenhall Presbyterian Church.

In 2013 they moved to independent living at Edgewood Vista in Fargo. Hubert passed away in 2019. While in Fargo, Marlene enjoyed word searches, shopping, playing cards, music, and family activities.

Marlene is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Richard) Hanson, Woodbury, MN, Rebecca (Andrew) Braden, Stillwater, MN, Renae (Steve)Troyer, Fargo, ND, and Michelle (Blake) Reed, Jamestown, ND. Two sisters, Lorraine (Allen) Love, East Grand Forks, Bonnie Winkka, Apache Junction, AZ. 10 Grandchildren: Alissa (Rick) Indridason, Lindsey (Marc) Geyen, Andrea (T.J.) Johnson, Anthony (Miranda) Braden, Joel Braden (fiancé Mary Rector), Adam (Erica) Troyer, Kaeley (Aaron) Redenius, Lauren (Chris) Spoke, Alex (Jenna) Reed, Jenna (Ryan) Peterson; 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hubert of 71 years, brothers Ernest and Donald, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Frances Johnson, Wallace and Lois Anderson, Harold and Virginia Berg,

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM, in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the Service.
INTERMENT: To follow the luncheon; Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
