Michael Gragert

Michael Gragert, 59, of Warren, MN, died in his home under the care of hospice, with his best friend Judy, at his side on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Michael Lind Gragert was born on May 7, 1962, in Billings, MT, the son of Charles and Sharon (Lind) Gragert. His childhood was spent in Broadview, MT, developing the love for motorcycles that he carried with him through his whole life. After graduating from Broadview High School in 1980, Mike attended college for a bit before realizing he enjoyed traveling and working more. He was employed as a pipeline worker, living in Wyoming, Texas, and Oklahoma. On November 29, 1986, Mike was married to Marcia Dickerson, in West Springfield, MA. Relocating with his new wife as she pursued her degree in nursing and finally earning her Doctorate. The couple lived in Austin, TX, Omaha, NE, and Great Falls, MT. Finally, they landed in Warren, MN in 1997, where they made their permanent home. Marcia passed away on September 4, 2010.

Mike worked for Wesolowski Trucking, Nordic Fiberglass, the Dean LaBine farm, and the Marshall County Group Home; at the latter he was a caretaker to his good friends, Jim, Jack, Darin, and Wayne. In his free time, Mike enjoyed riding and giving rides on his Harley Davidson- and this included his dog, Bella, whom he trained to sit in a sidecar. He was a tournament member of the East Grand Forks Rod & Gun Club, a willing pontoon captain at Judy's lake place, a great lover of his dogs over the years, and a cook of the highest caliber. He became “Grandpa” to Judy's grandchildren, and enjoyed sharing his life with her family for the last eleven years.

His long battle with stage-four cancer began in 2015: he enjoyed every moment after as a gift.
He will be dearly missed.

Mike is survived by his mother, Sharon, and brother, Pat (Cheri) Gragert both of Libbey, MT; two nephews, Jordan (Katie) and Hunter Gragert both of Billings; best friend, Judy Bernat of Warren; her daughter, Laura (Josh) Efta; grandkids, Gavin, Mattea, and Hattie Efta; and his goldendoodles, Bella and Shadow.

In addition to his wife, Marcia, Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Gragert.

All memorials may be directed to the Thief River Falls (MN) Humane Society in memory of Mike.

VISITATION: Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, in DuBore Funeral Home Chapel, Warren, MN.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: Following the visitation, at 7:00 PM.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
