Michael Anthony Veralrud

Michael Veralrud, 59, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on February 20, 2025.

Michael A Veralrud was born on August 17, 1965 in San Bernardino, CA, to Maynard A. and Sharon M. (Rood) Veralrud. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in 1968. He attended high school in Warren, MN his junior year, graduating in 1983 in Colton, CA.

Michael loved nature, animals, astronomy, music, and playing the guitar. Over the years, he worked in machine shops as a CNC operator and programmer, as a welder, and at times in construction and demolition. He enjoyed fixing bicycles, especially for the needy.

In 2006, Michael was married to Kristi Harmon and was baptized in the Church of the Latter Day Saints. He had a passion for ministering to the homeless, having at one time been homeless himself. Psalm 34: 2-9.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sharon and Richard Myers; step-sister, Linda Chatigny; nephew, Logan Chatigny; father-in-law, friend, and mentor, Glenn Partridge; “prayer warrior” friend, Carol; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard; paternal grandparents, Anton and Mabel Veralrud; paternal aunt and uncle. Arden Veralrud and Margie (Veralrud) Heggen; maternal grandparents, E. Bennie and Dorothy Rood; step-brother, Rick Myers; step-grandmother, Mary Myers; and step-uncle, Robert Myers.

INTERMENT: Privately held by his family, Spring of 2025, in Melo Lutheran Cemetery, rural Warren, MN.
