Robert “Bob” Beaudry, 90, of Argyle, MN, died on Monday, April 17, 2023, in North Valley Health Center, Warren, MN.

Bob was born to Daniel and Marie (King) Beaudry on February 6, 1933, on the family farm in Bloomer Township. According to him, he was born 150 years too late: he'd have rather been a pioneer or a cowboy. In any case, he grew up to be a farmer, graduating from Argyle High School in 1951, and working full time on the land after that. He was married to Lucille Stewart on June 5, 1954, and the two continued life on the farm: the both of them working side-by-side, raising both children and crops. In 1977, Bob's son bought into the farm, allowing Bob to start an impromptu and unofficial sort of retirement.

In 2000, Bob began gardening on a small piece of land along Highway 75, just south of town. It was common to see him on the approach to Argyle, sitting in a lawnchair admiring his work. He enjoyed watching neighboring farmers in their fields and having company out to occupy the other lawnchair. Throughout his life he loved the outdoors; going hunting for days on end or fishing on Lake of the Woods while staying at Warroad Estates Campground. While he always enjoyed the hunt, Bob had a soft spot for animals too, feeding the wildlife and giving attention to pets. Lucille died on June 14, 2015, and Bob continued to live on his own as long as he could, in his usual independent and ornery way. He enjoyed all the time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and LOVED being their Papa and Old Papa.

Bob is survived by his children, Michael Beaudry of Minneapolis, MN, Jeffrey (Drue) Beaudry, and Laurie (Michael) Sczepanski both of Argyle; five grandchildren, Derek (Quinn) Beaudry, Zachary (Breanne) Beaudry, Jadie Ann Schuh, Hayden (Hannah) Sczepanski and Hunter Sczepanski; nine great-grandchildren, Kenley, Jett, Mila, Franklin, Harvey, and Fern Beaudry, and Aubrey, Stella, and Beau Schuh; and siblings, June Wilt, and Lyle (Norita) Beaudry.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sisters Joyce (Nels) Bergman, and Maxine (James) Bozicevich; and brother-in-law, Marvin Wilt.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, April 20, 2023, 2:00 PM, in DuBore Funeral Home Chapel, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior.
INTERMENT: To follow in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN.
