Roger Pietruszewski, 81, lifelong farmer in Argyle, MN, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in North Star Manor, Warren, MN.
Roger Gordon was born on December 23, 1939, in Warren, the son of Thomas and Antoinette (Kasprowicz) Pietruszewski. He was raised on the family farm, where he attended country school and later Argyle Public School. His final year of high school was spent at the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston. Following his graduation in 1958, Roger went to work on the family farm alongside his brother and dad. On May 5, 1962, Roger was united in marriage to Bernadette Chwialkowski in Assumption Catholic Church of Florian. The two had known each other almost all their lives, and made their home together just northeast of Argyle. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage and raised four children.
Roger, being the dedicated farmer he was, never had too much time for hobbies. He loved his land, his crops, and his work. Roger did enjoy his motorcycle and appreciated "disappearing" on it whenever he could. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of old car makes and models, as well as an affection for old tractors, particularly his grandfather's old John Deere.
Roger is survived by his wife, Bernadette; sons, Alan (Corina), Dale (Denise), and Todd (Paula) Pietruszewski; daughter, Tami (Daron) Selvig; sister, Gloria Bedard; grandchildren, Doug, Shelby, and
Brody, Ashley and Amanda, Alyssa, Ryan and Kason, Ava, Anna, and Eden; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Jax; sister, Dolores Stusynski; brothers, Eugene and Edmund Pietruszewski; and brother-in-law, Leo Bedard.
