Ruth McGregor, 86, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Radium, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at Woodside Village in Grand Forks.
Ruth Elaine Hesse was born on May 12, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Horvick) Hesse. She was raised in the St. Hilaire, MN area and Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN. After high school, she attended and graduated from LPN school. Ruth married Clifford McGregor and they made their home in Radium. She worked at the Warren Hospital and the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for several years. Ruth moved to East Grand Forks, MN/Grand Forks where she worked at Sacred Heart School as a teacher's helper. As the years passed, Ruth began needing more care and in 2005 moved to Tufte Manor, later to Woodside Village, both in Grand Forks.
One of Ruth's favorite pastimes was needlepoint. She embroidered hundreds of dishtowels over the years and enjoyed crocheting as well. Many will remember her different sense of humor and how she was, at heart, a sweet woman.
