Stacy Szczepanski Obituary

Stacy Szczepanski, 49, of Stephen, MN, died in an accident in Clearwater County, MN, on Sunday, February 19th, 2023.

Stacy Bergeron was born on February 22, 1973, in Grand Forks, ND, to Richard and Cheryl (Nordine) Bergeron. She was raised in Argyle, MN, and graduated from high school in 1991. She then went on to study Elementary Childhood Education at Moorhead (MN) State University, earning her bachelors degree in 1995. Stacy was blessed to marry her sweetheart, Keith Szczepanski, on June 17, 1995, in Florian, MN. The young couple moved to Stephen where they would live the rest of their married lives together and raise three sons.

In addition to raising her boys into fine young men, Stacy had a great passion for education and sat on the Early Childhood Family Education Board. She was employed with Northwest Community Action where she worked educating and assisting children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years old. She truly loved the children with whom she worked and will leave behind a legacy of care and kindness that will not end with her untimely passing.

Stacy was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Stephen, a beloved Birthday Club member, and was a woman of great hospitality. She enjoyed making flowers grow; decorating her home; and spending time outdoors with the love of her life- whether on the back of a motorcycle, traveling by snowmobile, or simply relaxing on their boat in any number of lakes.

She will be dearly missed, long remembered, and forever loved.

Stacy is survived by her husband, Keith; sons, Kalen (Megan Evans), Kyler, and Kole; parents, Richard and Cheryl Bergeron; brother, Michael (Jackie) Bergeron; parents-in-law, Alen and Gail Szczepanski; Keith's siblings, Patti (Brian) Geraets, Lynn (Rochelle Anderson), Vicky, Brian (Jodi), and Darren (Lindsey) Szczepanski; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Payton, and Addisyn Bergeron, Micheyla and Alex Geraets, Austin, Brodyn, and Jadyn, and Beckett Szczepanski; many other relatives; and too many friends to count.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Bergeron; grandparents, Dan and Flo Bergeron, Ray and Joyce Nordine, and Gus Pagnac; and aunts and uncles, Rick Nordine, Paul Morehead, and Burton and Barbara Bergeron.
