Stella Fitzsimmons

INTERMENT: To be held on Earl's birthday, Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM, in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Warren, MN.

Stella Fitzsimmons, 88, of Warren, MN, passed away early Monday morning, January 31, 2022 at North Star Manor in Warren with her family by her side.

Stella Katherine was born on March 29, 1933, in Florian, MN, to Nick Sr. and Dorothy (Paulynski) Donarski. She grew up helping her large family on the farm. In 1954, Stella was married to Peter Pokrzywinski and they had five children. Later in life, after being a single mother and “rock” for her children, Stella was married to Earl Fitzsimmons on November 16, 1974, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren. He was the love of her life and a true “Dad” to the kids. Stella and Earl both enjoyed fishing, dancing, watching the Twins, and playing cards. She enjoyed the latter her whole life long, often playing solitaire well into the night. She always made people laugh with her silly antics and was known to raise some eyebrows. In her later years, she moved in North Star Manor where she enjoyed keeping the staff on their toes. She was especially pleased when her sister Nettie moved in, so the two could keep each other young at heart.

Stella loved her children, her family, and her friends. She will be greatly missed by those that loved her, and all should have hope and peace that she is in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her children, Rolland (Brenda) Pokrzywinski, Annette (David) Maurstad, Louise (Larry) Stadum, Monica Mock, and Linda (Mark) Pokyzywinski, Patty (John) Hostar, and Kathy (Truman) Jackson; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Nettie Kuznia, Irvin (Sally) Donarski, and Yvonne Adams; many nieces and nephews; and her daughter's “fur babies” at which she liked to bark when talking on the phone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fitzsimmons; her parents; brother, Nick Donarski Jr.; and sisters, Eileen and Frances.
