Theresa Knutson, 91, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Oslo, MN passed away on Thursday evening, May 8, 2025 at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks, ND with her family by her side.
Theresa Marie St. Germain was born on October 20, 1933 in Argyle, MN, the youngest of Esdras and Florida (Hebert) St. Germain. She was raised in Argyle where she graduated from Argyle High School in 1951. On June 26, 1951, Theresa married Winton Knutson in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle. They made their home in Oak Park Township north of Oslo where they farmed and raised their six children. In 2011, they moved to Grand Forks and in 2019, they made another move, this time to Good Samaritan Heritage Grove in East Grand Forks, MN. Sadly, Winton died on December 29, 2020. Theresa has made her home at Valley Senior Living on Columbia for the last year.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society and Oak Park Homemakers.
Theresa was farm wife who helped out where needed. She was an excellent cook and baker who was known for her sugar cookies, buns, caramel rolls and lefse. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing cards. Theresa had the gift of gab and an infectious smile. On many a Sunday, they were the last car out of the parking lot after church. She absolutely loved spending time with her family and friends.
Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Neil (Michele) Knutson of Oslo, MN, Orin Knutson of Oslo, MN and Dawn (Dean) LaBine of Argyle, MN; grandchildren, Nicholas (Melissa) Knutson, Lynn (Kiah) Knutson, Douglas Knutson, Derek Knutson (Stephanie), Jenna (Sheldon) Frueh, Larissa (Cody) Zeman, Ashley (Justin) Moe and Blake (Britta) LaBine; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Kase and Stella Knutson, Charleigh, Granger, Theresa and Clint Knutson, Tatum Sebjornson, Parker Hahn, Walker and Willa Zeman, Mahren, Everett and Harrison Moe, Rhett Frueh and Beckett and Briggs LaBine and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Esdras and Florida; sons, Mark, Lynn and James and siblings, John St. Germain, Ida St. Germain, Rolland St. Germain, Aurore Bedard, Edwidge Riopelle, Aime St. Germain, Delores Dufault, Lucille Pokrzywinski and Ida Rivard.
She will be missed by many.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oslo, MN.
VISITATION: One hour before the Mass.
INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN
