Thomas D. O'Keefe

Thomas O'Keefe, 36, of Warren, MN, "went home" on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Thomas Douglas O'Keefe was born on January 26, 1988, in Grand Forks, to Jeffrey and Lisa (Soltvedt) O'Keefe. Tommy was baptized on Easter Sunday (his mom's favorite holiday) and later became a big brother to Jonny: the two were inseparable. Tom was confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Warren and received his GED. He became a father for the first time with son, Dawson, and his mother Stephanie. He was married to Laci and had three more sons, Travis, Theodore, and Corey. Despite divorcing, Tom and Laci co-parented and remained close friends.
 

Over the years, Tom enjoyed fishing and camping, spending every weekend with his sons, his brother, or his friends. When he needed to straighten things out, Tommy always headed to the “Garden,” the O'Keefe family land outside of town. He found great peace and comfort there. He worked for Jungwirth Construction and later was a carpenter with his friends, Miles Johnson and Bobby Boman. He also enjoyed working on vehicles with Jonny and his dad.

Jonny died on August 9, 2024, following a cardiac event. Tommy was never the same and never got over losing him. Tom ended his own life but God has great mercy, taking him in His arms and bringing him home to be forever with Jonny once more.

Tom will be sadly missed by his boys, his parents, his family, and his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Lisa O'Keefe; eldest son, Dawson and his mother, Stephanie; his three boys, Travis, Theodore, and Corey (and their mother, Laci); many aunts, uncles, and cousins; grandparents, Richard Tatro and Marilyn (Leonard) Novak; and Tabitha, with whom he shared a home, and her children, Hailey, Thomas, Keira, and Owen.

In addition to Jonny who died 157 days before him, Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Veronica O'Keefe, Milton Soltvedt, and Ina Mae Tatro.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: one hour prior.
INTERMENT: At the “Garden,” the O'Keefe Family Land in McCrea Township, MN
