Tim Munger

Tim Munger, 66, of Warren, MN, died on Thursday, June 23, 2022, in North Star Manor.

Timothy Merritt Munger was born on April 25, 1956, in Warren, the eldest son of Clyde and Florence (Eckdahl) Munger. He grew up on the family farm alongside his brother, Matt, seven years his senior. The two were nearly always together, working on the farm or goofing around with vehicles. Tim had a lifelong love for animals and raised many ribbon-winning sheep as a boy. As an adult, he raised a barnful of sheep, in addition to growing wheat, barley, beets, oats, and hay for the sheep.

On December 23, 1992, Tim married Judy (Rustan) Hamm in Grace United Methodist Church of Warren. He enjoyed the responsibility he had with her children, and was a kind and calm father-figure. Nothing phased Tim, even when teaching her son how to drive- at the age of thirteen. He enjoyed old cars, old trucks, and Harleys. Tim was easily identifiable in the Warren area (where he lived his whole life) as a large, bearded man in bib overalls. He retired from farming with his brother in 1994 and was a regular volunteer for Warren Senior Meals for years after that.

Shortly after Judy died, on June 8, 2014, Tim moved to an assisted living north of Bagley, MN, where he was able to enjoy nature and great nursing care. In 2021 he moved into North Star Manor.

Tim is survived by his brother, Matt (Myrna) Munger; children, Micah Hamm, Melissa (Jason) Johnson, and Christina Hamm; grandchildren, Joshua, Adrian, Elijah, Drew, Megan, Tate, and Chase; cousins, Ned (Sally) Munger, Nancy (Steve) Jastram and Mark (Luchy) Munger, and his nieces and nephews and their children.

In addition to his wife, Judy, Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Florence; and many aunts and uncles.


In Lieu of Flowers (due to an allergy), memorials may be directed to Warren Senior Meals or North Star Manor.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM, in Grace United Methodist Church, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior at the church.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
