Verna Jorgenson

Verna Jorgenson, 94, of West St. Paul, formerly of Warren, MN, entered into rest on Friday, April 17, 2020, in Southview Acres Health Care Center, West St. Paul.

Verna Mae Jensen was born on February 17, 1926, in Warren, MN, to George and Lottie (Krolak) Jensen. She was raised in Warren and attended public schools. On December 11, 1942, at the age of sixteen, Verna was united in marriage to Melvin E. Jorgenson. The two made their home in Warren, where Verna would raise their three children. In addition to the daily tasks of keeping a house going, she and Melvin were the custodians at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren for 24 years.

She was active in the church and was a member of the Warren American Legion Auxiliary. Verna loved to read, do word searches, and complete crossword puzzles. She was extremely skilled with crafts and could tackle almost any project; these would be over and above her regular knitting and crocheting. She was a big Minnesota Twins fan and she would be cheering them on winning or losing. She loved being able to spend time with her grandchildren and took a special joy in watching her great-grandchildren grow up.

She lived almost her entire life in Warren. After moving away in 2015, Verna lived in an assisted living apartment in the metro area and recently had moved into the care facility where she passed.

Verna has gone to meet her husband and children, all four of whom have preceded her in death; sons, James and Donald Jorgenson; daughter, Diane Prior; and husband, Melvin. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Ralph, Richard, and William Jensen; and sister, Luella.

She is survived by five grandchildren; Erin (Todd) Basney, Jason (Greta) Jorgenson, Michael Jorgenson, Matthew (Lauren Hagen) Prior, Lindsey Prior; five great grandchildren; Jacob, Andrew, Wesley, Rowan and Madison; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jorgenson; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Jensen.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or North Valley Health Center, both of Warren.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, April 24, 2020, at 11:00 AM, in Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
Due to COVID 19 Restrictions, there will be a limit of ten guests at this service. Please feel free to attend, provided we have adequate social-distancing in the cemetery.
