Wilferd Welin, 90, of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Wilferd Charles Welin was born on July 26, 1933 in Warren, MN, the son of Elmer and Ethel (Stanghelle) Welin. He was a lifelong farmer of Alma Township where he lived on the family farm his entire 90 years. Wilferd graduated from Argyle High School in 1951. He served in the US Army from 1957 – 1958 and he was stationed at Fort Smith, AR, Fort Seal, OK and Fort Knox, KY. While at Fort Knox, he met Frances Hall who became his wife. They had 64 years together and raised six children: Lloyd, Robert, Karen, John, Roger and Eric.
Faith, farming and family were his life.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Frances; children, Robert (Rochelle) Welin, John Welin, Roger (Nancy) Welin and Eric (Jennifer) Welin; daughter-in-law, Julie Welin; son-in-law, Mike Anderson; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie (George) Johnson, Doris Oase and Ann (Jim) Lemon and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ethel; son, Lloyd Welin; daughter, Karen Anderson and grandchildren, Amy Welin and Whitney Welin.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Karlstad Baptist Church in Karlstad, MN.

INTERMENT: Alma Baptist Cemetery in Alma Township, Marshall County, MN.
