Dorothy Urbaniak

Dorothy Urbaniak, 89, formerly of Argyle, MN, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, in the Good Samaritan Center, Warren, MN.

Dorothy Antoinette Price was born on May 5, 1927, to John and Antoinette (Wilebski) Price. She grew up on the family farm in rural Stephen with her four siblings and attended 55 West country school. On October 29 1951, Dorothy was married to Thomas Urbaniak in Assumption Catholic Church, Florian. The young couple made their home in rural Argyle where they farmed and raised their family.

To Dorothy, family always came first; whether it was caring for her children and grandchildren or assisting her parents in their later years, the love of family was her primary motivator and concern. Her many friends and neighbors were also very important to her, and she was always quick to offer a helping hand. She was a generous cook and baker, keeping her family and neighbors well-fed with good food. She also enjoyed reading and doing needlework, using the time to relax after long days on the farm, many of which were spent maintaining her large gardens.

Dorothy was active in her home church, St. John the Baptist, in rural Argyle. She was a longtime member of the Altar Society and the Ladies Rosary Sodality. Along with her husband, she was a great silent supporter to the community, present at many funerals and quietly serving others. In 2004, Dorothy and Thomas moved into Argyle and began attending St. Rose Church, later moving to the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston when they needed more care. Thomas passed away on April 10, 2013.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Tim (Carol) of Argyle, Marie (Mark) Borgen of Plymouth, MN, Joseph (Lauri) of Grand Forks, ND, Allen of Brooklyn Center, MN, and Kathleen (Randy) Johnson of Ham Lake, MN; three grandchildren, Chris (Stacey) Urbaniak, Luke (Ashley) Urbaniak, and Susan (Dane) Pedersen; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, Matty, Addyson, Williston, Afton, Harrison, Savi, Gavin, and Caden.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Loretta (Valerian) Kuznia, John (Rose) Price, Barbara (Steve) Tulibaski, and Richard Price.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, January 20, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN; with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, rural Argyle.
