Edmund Kuznia, 88, of Warren, MN formerly of Argyle died June 9, 2010 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Warren, MN.

Edmund was born on September 21, 1921 in Wright Township, Marshall County, MN to Vincent J. and Wanda (Gratzek) Kuznia. He attended country school in Florian, MN for eight years and then started working on his parents farm. On June 7, 1943, Edmund married Annie Woinarowicz at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Stephen, MN. They started married life living with Edmund's parents and helping out on their farm. In 1944, they moved to their own farm in Section 19 of Wright Township, where they resided for 56 years and raised nine children.

He raised grain, potatoes and also started a dairy herd. In 1954, they installed a bulk milk tank, one of the first in the area. They increased their dairy herd and sold Grade A milk. In 1983, Edmund retired from farming.

Edmund was a member of NFO (National Farmers Organization) where he served a term as president, the DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association) and served on the school board for District #50 School. He also belonged to the PNA (Polish National Alliance). Edmund was a life long member of the Assumption Catholic Church of Florian, where he served as lector and a member of the parish council. He was also a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren.

In October of 2000, Edmund and Annie moved to the Summerfield Apartments in Warren. Edmund moved to the Good Samaritan Center on October 7, 2008. Edmund enjoyed reading, watching television and visiting with family and friends.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Annie of Warren; children, Josephine (Wallace) Woehrle of Minneapolis, MN, Gordon (Mary) Kuznia of Lake Crystal, MN, Lorraine Johnson of St. Paul, MN, Maxine (Michael) Vaneps of Dresser, WI, Bernadette (Robert) Franks of Warren, MN, Adeline Kuznia (Mark Wetschka) of Grand Rapids, MN, Edmund (Cindy) Kuznia Jr. of New Hope, MN, Jeanette (Terry) Miller of Menomonie, WI and Anthony (Malissa) Kuznia of Thief River Falls, MN; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Valerian Kuznia of Argyle, MN, Vincent (Barbara) Kuznia of Blaine, MN and Hilary (Julianna) Kuznia of Stephen, MN and two sisters, Evelyn Kujava of Warren, MN and Ludvine (Conrad) Gryskiewicz of Argyle, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ambrose and Bernard.

FUNERAL MASS: 10:30 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary and Prayer Service on Friday, June 11, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.
INTERMENT: Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Florian, MN
