Jeannie (Larson) Anderson

Jeannie (Larson) Anderson, 85, of Warren, MN, passed away, surrounded by her family, under care of hospice, on Sunday, October 23, 2016, in the Good Samaritan Center, Warren.

Jeannette Adele Nordling was born on May 18, 1931, in Lake Bronson, MN, to John O. and Alice (Carlson) Nordling. She grew up with her nine siblings in Lake Bronson and rural Alvarado, MN. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega and began playing organ for services in the 7th Grade. After graduating from high school in Alvarado, she worked as a nurses aide for several years. On November 26, 1955, Jeannie was united in marriage to Aldon O. Larson in Zion Lutheran Church in Alvarado. They made their home in Warren, where they raised their four children.

Aldon passed away on February 6, 1980, and Jeannie filled her time with family, friends, and working at the Landmark. She was lucky enough to find love again, and was married to Robert W. Anderson on May 21, 1988. She enjoyed being a farmer's wife and remained active in her church, continuing to play organ and quilt. She was a great and gifted quilter, and she specially enjoyed being able to make them for her grand and great-grandchildren. Even in her final weeks, she was collecting supplies and making quilts for the great-great-grandchildren yet to come. Jeannie also enjoyed sewing and doing patching repairs for her sons.

Jeannie is survived by her children, Lori (Shawn) Frank of Jamestown, ND, Dorice (Scott) Salzer of Dickinson, ND, Wayne (Sharon) Larson of Warren, MN, and Daryl (Jody) Larson of Alvarado, MN; 11 grandchildren, Sarah (Cody) Schmalz, Amanda (Nathan) Nichols, Ryan (Dana) Larson, Adam (Megan) Larson, Kayla (Eric) Honeyman, Jesse (Hope) Larson, Ashley (Jeremy) Solvik, Casey (fiancee, Brooke Carlson) Larson, Max and Zoe Condra, and Alex Hoiland; 13 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Cindy (Andy) Hoiland of Prior Lake, MN; step-son-in-law, Ron Anderson of Warroad, MN; and sisters-in-law, Betty Nordling of East Grand Forks, MN and Doris (Fred) Melberg of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Aldon Larson and Robert Anderson; parents, John & Alice Nordling; step-daughter, Jill Anderson; five brothers, Melvin, George (Shirley), Lloyd, Alex “Walter,” and Rolland (Joyce) Nordling; and four sisters, Pearl (Walter) Svard, Helen (Peder) Kitti, Doris (Joel) Lundeen, and Myrtle (Robert) Dahlstrom.

Visitation: Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 5-7 PM, in DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, MN; and one hour prior to services at the church.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 28, 2016, at 2:00 PM, in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Vega, rural Warren, MN.

Interment: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Vega Township, MN.
