LeeVila Wallsten

LeeVila Wallsten was born to David and Lillian (Johnson) Hultgren on November 12, 1922 and grew up on the family farm near Kennedy, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Jupiter Mission Church. After graduating from Kennedy High School, she went on to complete the NYA Program at North Star College in Warren, MN.

LeeVila worked at the Hartz stores in both Warren and Kennedy. She married Lester Wallsten in 1944, and they lived in Vega Township before settling in Warren. LeeVila moved to Apple Valley, MN in 2013 to be near her daughter. In September, 2016, she moved to the Augustana Care Center in Apple Valley where she lived until her passing on October 6.

LeeVila and Lester had two children, Faye and Bruce. They attended First Lutheran Church. LeeVila was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her homemaking skills. Everyone was always welcome in her home, and she seemed the happiest when she could be of help or service to others.

She is survived by her daughter, Faye of Eagan, MN, brother and sister-in- law, Dale and Ettie Hultgren of Kennedy, and many nieces, nephews, grand- nieces, and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester, son Bruce, parents David and Lillian Hultgren, sisters Adele Hultgren and Ferne Berg, brothers and sisters-in-law, Merland Berg, Ober and Myrtle Austad, Richard and Ethel Anderson, niece Judy Soderberg and nephew John Anderson.

LeeVila was an easy person to like. She will be greatly missed by those who had the opportunity to know and love her.

​Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.

Visitation: One hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
