Elaine was light on her feet in her younger years, despite childhood polio, and the young couple loved to go dancing when they were able.

The couple made their home on a farm outside of town, where Elaine raised their children and kept house. She was very active in her church choir and the local American Legion Auxiliary. In 2013, Elaine and Aime moved to Tamarac Assisted Living in Stephen, MN, and enjoyed their neighbors and staff immensely.
In addition to her husband of 74 years, Aime; Elaine is survived by her children, Carol Larson of Stephen, Linda Kuznia of Stephen, Edward (Judy) St. Germain of Argyle, Joel (Renae) St. Germain of Argyle, Susan Neegard of East Grand Forks, MN, and Mary St. Germain of Argyle; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Aurore Bedard and Theresa Knutson.
