Ivadelle Clausen

Ivadelle Clausen, 93, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN with her family by her side.

Ivadelle A. Hunstad was born on November 15, 1923 in Angus, MN, the daughter of Anton and Ethel (Haugen) Hunstad. She moved with her family as an infant to rural Argyle where she attended country school. On April 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Evald Clausen at Argyle. They made their home in rural Argyle until they moved into Argyle in 1965. Ivadelle was the head cook at the Argyle Public School for 28 years. Evald died on June 22, 2012.

She was a member of Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church and past president of the W.M.F. Sunshine. Ivadelle was also a member and past president of the Argyle American Legion Auxiliary.

Ivadelle enjoyed flowers, baking cookies and lefsa, reading, and listening to music. She also cherished visiting with neighbors and friends, as well as feeding people in town. She'll be remembered by many for always putting on the coffee pot for visitors, however short the visit.

Left to mourn her passing are her three children, Linda (Dan) Scharba of Brooklyn Park, MN, Barbara Carlson of Eden Prairie, MN, and Mark (Teryl) Clausen of Moorhead, MN; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five siblings, Ralph (Ada) Hunstad, Joan Rousseau, Duane (Avis) Hunstad, Donald (Carolyn) Hunstad and Howard Hunstad and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Evald and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell ( Marge) and Earl (Joyce).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Argyle Veterans Memorial Garden.
 

Visitation: Starting at 5:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30, in Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church, Argyle, MN.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church, Argyle.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Argyle, MN
