Dorothy and Evert were both just plain nice and good people. The world needs more of them. Both had a deep faith and the condolences below are all true.

When I think of Dorothy, I can see her at our back door, knocking softly, and saying "Lorna, are you here" in case she didn't hear your knock.....and she always shared a plate of goodies she had just baked! I also think of the privilege I had of witnessing her faith....I know there are many more goodies in heaven with your presence!!.

Many special memories of our church family at Alvarado Baptist. Your mom and dad were part of those memories. Dorothy's spirit was forever kind and gentle to me as a child. The Lord blessed many with her love.

I extend my loving condolences to you at this time of loss. Having grown up in the Covenant church, I met and knew all who knew my mother, Ruth Boardson Short. I knew Dorothy through the Ladies Aide, when my mother and Dorothy would serve together on various committees. Dorothy was one of the kindest, warmest, most loving people I knew at church. As a teenager, she always had a kind word for me, and her smile would invite a warm conversation. She usually found me after a program to offer a compliment to me. As I watched her work and converse, I knew I was observing a Godly woman. I remember well the chit chat in the basement of the old Covenant Church as well as the new one as the ladies would prepare meals for weddings and funerals because I would "hang out." I share your grief at this time. God bless you.

To all of Dorothy's family I send my deepest condolences. Dorothy was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold. As a child she greeted every one of us with her smile and gentle way. It was never a task to bring our tray to her. As an adult she continued to make you feel loved and special. Her fresh baked goodies and her crocheted doilies were always a treasure. My prayers to all who loved her!

Our condolences to all of Dorothy's family. Mike has wonderful memories of Dorothy's years of work in the elementary school kitchen, and how kind she was to everyone. A caring, gentle person. And Faye, I'm thinking of the times you and I worked together at the nursing home and meeting your mom through you. She always had smiles and sweet words when we spoke. What a long life the Lord blessed her with. She will be missed by the many, many people whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, Dorothy.

I didn't realize Dorothy was still living up until now. We were your neighbors and I adored Faye and Diane. I have your little playhouse kitchen cabinet yet! Your mother was the sweetest lady. Aunt Clara and I had visited with her some a long time ago. How fortunate she was and you were to enjoy each other all these years.
Dorothy lived a full "dash" and touched many lives.
My sympathy to you.
