Florence Kuznia

​Florence Kuznia, 84, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, in Karlstad (MN) Healthcare Center.

Florence Elenora Donarski was born on January 24, 1933, on the family farmstead in Wright Township, MN, to John and Helen (Blazejewski) Donarski. She grew up on the farm and attended Wright Township School. On June 10, 1952, Florence was united in marriage to Emil Michael Kuznia, in Assumption Catholic Church, Florian, MN. The young couple made their home in rural Stephen and raised their family.

Florence was a fine homemaker in every sense of the term: she loved to bake, making all sorts of goodies and homemade buns; she gardened and canned the produce; and she knitted and made quilts. For a few years in the late 1960's, Florence worked as a seamstress in Arctic Cat, but her first concern was always for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time at their cabin east of the Old Mill State Park.

Florence will be remembered as loving, faith-filled woman, and she was an active member in St. Stephen Catholic Church for many years.

In addition to her husband of nearly 65 years, Emil, Florence is survived by her sons, Rod (Joyce) Kuznia of Strandquist, MN, Greg (Mary) Kuznia of Strandquist, John Kuznia (Kellie Donarski) of Newfolden, MN, and Doug Kuznia (Leah Anderson) of Brainerd, MN; twelve grandchildren;  twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and sister, Veronica Knoll of Crookston, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Frances; sister, Dolores Kujava; brother, Louie Donarski; half-sister, Arlid Westberg; and half-brother, Allen Donarski.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Stephen, MN.
Visitation: From 5:00 PM, with a 6:30 Rosary and 6:45 PM Prayer Service on Friday in St. Stephen Catholic Church; and one hour prior to Mass on Saturday.
Interment: St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Stephen, MN.
