We will surely miss Helen's sweetness and singing. Her singing was uplifting to those around her. After her family left after a day of going out to the restaurant for lunch and visiting, she was so happy and still singing after everyone was gone. Our sympathy goes out to the family.

Dear Miska family, I'm so sorry to learn your mother has passed away. She was a very special friend of my mother, Elsie Marek. I really enjoyed my chats with her when she was living in the Twin Cities. She was one spunky lady who enjoyed life even in the nursing home. Her mind was sharp and conversations were stimulating. Our dear mothers will always be remembered.

I do have memories of Helen when she lead the meal prayer at the senior center for many years. I worked as dining manager in the 90's. Also, remember her as being active at St. Peter & Paul Church. She was a kind and pleasant lady. Always had a pretty smile. I can just see her aging gracefully. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Miska Family :

Our family was next door neighbors to Helen and Henry for many years while we lived in Warren. Both Helen and Henry were the best neighbors and they were so kind to our two sons, Scott and Jeff. Both Helen and Henry lived a great life and with high integrity. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time.

Ken - and family. My good high school friend from the past - our thoughts and prayers our with you at this time. Your Mom lived a good life and lived to a good age of 101 (my Dad also made it to that same age of 101). But this is not the end and as believers, we know there is much more and better life on the other side.

Eldon, nice to hear from you, my good friend from our high school years. Mom was near us for 6 years in Madison, WI. She was alert and happy until the last few week when she she was ready to move on. She did not have any major illness to battle, just died of old age. We are vacationing in the Philippines and will be home for the funeral. Ken

Truly, Helen was our mother, Adelaide's, best friend, especially in their later years. Together, they aged and then left us as gracefully as they lived. Memories of 4-H meetings in the Miska house mean memories of Helen. Today, we share in your sorrow and loss.

Our deepest sympathy to all the Miska families in the loss of your wonderful Mother. We often brought our Mom, Adelaide, to visit with your mother and they had many special times remembering all the fun outings they had, the people they knew and how they were managing their golden years. God Bless, Romelle and David

Just finished reading Helen's obituary. It reminded me again of her wonderful sense of humor and great baking skills! I remember her telling how she could tell the difference in quality of each bag of flour she used to bake her bread. They were LARGE bags, too! Her bread and other baked goods were legendary.

Patty, we are so sorry for your loss. It is hard to lose a parent, no matter how long a life they may have lived. It is a chapter that is closed in your own life. I remember your mom as being so welcoming. Always cheerful. She was just a sweet lady! Keeping you & your brothers in our prayers.

I graduated in 1967 with Ken and Charlie and I lived across the street from your Mom and Dad when they lived in their new house on 7th Street. We also went to church with them at St Peter"s and Paul Catholic Church in Warren. We visited with them often. They were both such sweet people. Our prayers are with your family during this time of sorrow.

Thank you for your kind words. Mom lived near us in Madison, WI for the last 6 years. She did well in the nursing home and did not have to battle any major illnesses. A happy and alert angel until she just died of old age. Her work is done here and she was teaching us life lesson until the end. We are vacationing in the Philippines and working on a medical mission. Will be home for the funeral. Ken

It's too bad we live so far from Warren. Would be nice to be able to visit with you, but we live in Borger, TX. We have several friends that have connections to the Phillipines. What kind of a medical mission were you on? Are you in the medical field? I remember one time your Dad loaned us his station wagon to go to the air port in Grand Forks and pick up my Grandpa from North Carolina that had had a stroke. We brought him to Warren on a gurney from the Warren Hospital and the local doctor admitted him and kept him for a few days and then had him admitted to United rehab in Grand Forks because they didn't have anything like that in North Carolina. Your folks were wonderful people. You were blessed to have them. Our prayers are with you . Diane and Charlie Weaver
