Hi MaryAnn and Family,
I’m sooo Sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral – North Dakota/Minnesota winters are just not very cooperative. I’ve sure been keeping all of you and the family in my prayers.
I’m including this newspaper article from back in the 70’s (76 I think) – cute story behind the story:
I got to take dads new car on a Sunday Afternoon – on my way to the Bowling Alley I stopped at Dairy Queen or 2nd Street Grocery …can’t remember where exactly – was a long time ago – haha … but when I stopped I saw Jim – he said with a big smile – You have your dads new car?! I just said yup – and laughed. He laughed and said as I was leaving – Don’t crack it up. Well – as you can see by the article – that’s exactly what I did!
Now here’s the strange part – I haven’t thought about that for years…Jim passed last Wednesday and this article showed up on my facebook shortly after that!
I love little messages in life like that – it’s like he was saying “Hey remember this!”
*The year after mom died I saw a Cardinal on Mother’s Day – they say if you see a Cardinal it’s a message from Heaven Guess I got to with her a Happy Mother’s day after all.
The Article is pretty blurry from printing – here’s what it says
“Sunday about 3:55pm Miss Elizabeth Jean Nicholls, 17, was driving her father’s 1974 Mercury and was stopped at the Cactus Lane turn heading onto TH 75 when her car was struck by a car driven by Paul Scott Quanrud, 16, who slid on the icy road as he made a turn into Cactus Lanes” (I put this in the mail to you MaryAnn)
