Ralph Kuznia

Ralph Kuznia, 92, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 13, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Ralph was born on February 11, 1924, in rural Stephen (Wagner Township), the son of Bert and Martha (Pietruszewski) Kuznia. He was raised in rural Stephen where he attended country school at District 55 West. Ralph served in the US Army from 1945 until he was honorably medically discharged in 1946. On October 17, 1959, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Solarski. They farmed and lived east of Stephen on the family farm in Augsburg Township. Ralph raised potatoes and wheat with his brother, Thomas and nephew, Gerald, until he retired. He also worked for many area farmers. They moved to the BenDel Apartments in 2000. Eleanor died on November 13, 2007. Ralph moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 2013.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, PNA, Stephen Senior Citizens and Stephen American Legion.

Ralph enjoyed working in his yard and his flower and vegetable gardens. He also liked fishing at Lake of the Woods, playing cards, and dancing. His kind heart and faithfulness to the Lord was evident in his everyday life. He had love for all.

Left to mourn his passing are a nephew, who was more like a son, Gerald (Marilyn) Kuznia of Stephen, MN and their children, Mark (Michelle), Kevin (Brittney), Sarah (Ethan) Marquis and Amy (Mark) Sage; sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Barbara Campbell and Florence Ziemer; siblings-in-laws, Ray Herbst, Margie Kuznia, Janet Kuznia, and Theresa Solarski; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; brothers, August (June), Thomas (Greta), Raymond, Leonard and Robert; sisters, Eleanor Herbst, Antionette Kuznia and Theresa Dufault; brothers-in-law, Dewey Campbell, Ken Ziemer, Richard Anderson, Walter Solarski, and Wadsworth Solarski; sister-in-law, Myria Waletzko; and in-laws, Alex and Mary Solarski.

Mass of Christian Burial: 2:30 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen, MN.

Visitation: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary and 6:45 PM Prayer Service on Friday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.

Interment: St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Stephen, MN.
