Jason Johnston, 42, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 due to a car accident by Angus, MN.
Jason Kent Johnston was born on August 12, 1974 in Warren, MN, the son of Gary and Carey (Erstad) Johnston. He was raised in rural Angus and graduated from Warren High School. After he graduated from school, Jason started to work at his life passion of farming. On June 3, 2006, he was united in marriage to Liane Hodny. They made their home in East Grand Forks.
He was a member of the Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church.
Jason was a collector of John Deere machinery and toys. He was a great story teller that loved to visit with family and friends. Jason was an avid farmer who loved everything about it including attending farm auctions and reading the agricultural classifieds. His greatest passion was the love that he had for his children, Callie and Andrew.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Liane and children, Callie and Andrew all of East Grand Forks, MN; parents, Gary and Carey Johnston of Angus, MN; siblings, Gretchen (Cory) Schmaltz of Mekinock, ND, Leslie (Brad) Shirek of Barnesville, MN and Lane (Mindy) Johnston of Grand Forks, ND, nieces and nephews, Kylie, Addie, Kody, Laney, Claire, Logan and Berkley; grandparents, Sidney and Ardell Erstad of Ada, MN and Gene Johnston of Warren, MN, father-in-law, Henry Hodny of Grafton, ND and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Johnston and mother-in-law, Ann Hodny.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church in Angus, MN.
VISITATION: Starts at 10:30 AM with a 11:00 AM Prayer Service on Wednesday at the Angus Tabor Presbyterian Church in Angus, MN with the visitation to continue after the Prayer Service until the start of the funeral.
INTERMENT: Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Cemetery, Tabor, MN.
